Culpepper & Merriweather Circus was founded in 1985. It originally had 4 members who performed, set-up tents, drove the trucks and put up the posters. Now, in our 14th year, we have 44 employees and have been featured on National Geographic's Explorer Television show, Entertainment Tonight, The L.A. Times and Arizona Highways.
We are one of America's few Big Top Circuses left in the United States. We travel 32 weeks a year from March to October performing seven days a week. We are sponsored in each town by a local civic organization that receives a percentage of ticket sales for local community projects.
The circus has survived in the United States for over 250 years. We believe our show, which entertains children, parents and grandparents to be one of the few truly family entertainment forms left.
We believe:
1) Our customers deserve the best show possible each day at prices that are fair and deserve to be treated with respect and courtesy.
2) All life emanates from the same source and that we judge others by their abilities and morals - not by skin color, nationality, language or race.
3) That we in the circus live simply and have respect for the planet.
4) That our animals will be treated with respect, with the knowledge that they too are God's creatures and hopefully we can teach appreciation and respect to others who view them.
