past years, to standing-room-only crowds.
Admission to the play is FREE to the community.
Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Three performances will
be presented: Friday, March 29th at 7:00 PM, Saturday, March 30th
at 7:00 PM and Easter Sunday, March 31st at 10:00 am. Don’t miss

History
OF Easter
In ancient Egypt and Persia people
exchanged decorated eggs at the spring equinox , the beginning of the
new year. The eggs were seen as a symbol of fertility for them because
the coming forth of a live creature from an egg was so surprising to
people of ancient times.
Christians adopted this tradition, and the Easter egg became a
religious symbol. It represented the tomb from which Jesus broke forth.
In medieval times eggs were traditionally given at Easter to all
servants, and to the children, along with other gifts. It seems that the
custom of hiding the eggs is a universal one.
Here in Cambria tradition dictates that the children gather at
Shamel park and be ready to hunt eggs at 8am sharp. spearheaded by Reggie
Perkins the community fathers come together an hide up to 7000 eggs throughout
the park. Helium balloons are given out and
Peter Rabbit
makes a guest appearance for photo-ops.
