to the Central Coast Wine Country!
 The Central Coast area has a rich history of winemaking and grape growing,
beginning in 1797 at Mission San Miguel Archangel and continuing to this day.
Vineyards and wineries dot the oak-lined hills, inviting a leisurely drive along
country roads in an area that's warmed by the sun and cooled by afternoon
breezes.
Today there are more than 30 wineries and 100 vineyards growing premium wine
grapes on rolling hills that vary from 700 to 1900 feet in elevation. Together
they are the wine industry in the Central Coast wine region.
Wine Tours
 Along the Central Coast, wine
touring is reminiscent of another unhurried time. Drive along the scenic country
roads, enjoy the rural atmosphere, and stop to sample the ambience of a small
winery. You can chat with the winemaker, picnic on the winery grounds and taste
the wines of the area.
Wine Events
 Wine events are held by individual wineries throughout the year, and range
from musical concerts to special winemaker dinners. In addition, the Paso Robles
Vintners and Growers Association produces wine tasting events in march, may and
