In summer 2024, Adventures by Disney will offer round-trip expedition cruises from Venice, Italy across the Adriatic Sea, stopping at seven ports in Croatia and Montenegro along the Dalmatian Coast. Eight-day/seven-night voyages aboard Ponant luxury yacht Le Bougainville, a small, intimate vessel, are specially designed to access remote locations such as Dubrovnik and Split, filming locations for ‘Game of Thrones’. HBO. The ship will sail along the beautiful coast of the Adriatic Sea, where guests will be immersed in the culture and stories of the region.
Like all Adventures by Disney itineraries, families are accompanied by Disney-trained Adventure Guides who bring the stories of the destination to life. Each Adriatic Expedition cruise will have up to six adventure guides to accompany guests and lead themed activities on board and ashore. During the week-long expedition, Adventure Guides will lead excursions such as:
Explore Montenegro’s scenic Boka Bay by catamaran or stroll the cobbled streets of Kotor’s Old Town.
Discovery of the islands along the Adriatic coast with stops in Korcula to taste the famous oysters of Mali Ston or in Hvar to kayak along the Pakleni islands.
Explore Krka National Park with its majestic landscapes and waterfalls while hearing stories of Croatian innovator Nikola Tesla’s first demonstration of electricity.
Walking tour of the Old Town of Dubrovnik, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Other activities include:
Taste delicious cuisine, Croatian wine, captivating architecture and unique culture in the region.
Cycle through the vineyards and lavender fields of the UNESCO-listed Stari Grad Plain (also known as Hora or Ager).
Tasting of local specialties such as Dalmatian prosciutto, aged by the bura, a blowing north wind common during the winter months.
Stroll through medieval Croatian port towns awash with warm limestone and distinctive red-tiled roofs, and visit the famous Predjama Castle in Slovenia.
Dive into the huge underground labyrinth of Postojna Cave in Slovenia and discover the “dragons” that inhabit it.
Step back in time to learn about centuries-old Croatian traditions, including olive oil pressing methods.

- Antarctica and Patagonia Expedition Cruise: This southern region itinerary offers the opportunity to experience the pristine splendor of Antarctica and the beautiful region of Argentine Patagonia. Here, wildlife magic takes center stage as guests observe animals such as penguins, seals and whales in their natural habitat. Dates: December 17-28, 2023 and February 17-28, 2024.
- Arctic Expedition Cruise: This North Polar region expedition cruise features the arctic waters and surrounding landscapes of Svalbard. Guests will cruise along deep fjords, learn about the human history of the Arctic, marvel at huge glaciers and spot amazing wildlife including polar bears, reindeer and walruses.
