Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has been given additional security blanket over Z+ category security. The police department provided the extra security to the CM after observing that during his visit to Pandharpur in July, Shinde easily blended in with the crowd, a senior police official said. The Vice President of Traffic Police has arrested two people from Rajasthan and Mumbai for their alleged involvement in stealing money of Rs 1 crore from an angadia in South Mumbai. According to the police, the two people arrested were identified as Jabbar Singh Rawat Singh Rajput (19) and his nephew Arwindsinh Goyal (21). The victim – Kiran Patel – in his complaint alleged that Rajput worked at his shop in Bhoiwada, South Mumbai, Bhuleshwar.

A special court on Monday sent five men, arrested for alleged links to the now banned organization, the People’s Front of India (PFI), to continue the detention of the Maharashtra Counter Terrorism Squad (ATS) until October 8 . The five were arrested in September. 22. The ATS on Monday requested their detention for an additional eight days. The agency’s prosecutor told the court that the defendants’ social media accounts and information extracted from their phones needed to be analyzed and confronted. Lawyers for the defendants argued that there were no new grounds given by the ATS to seek a further extension of their custody.
