Ens1 (SCC) Simon Cullen RNR, Unit Commander, said: A discussion of all the roles that are right for you.

“Don’t be discouraged if you don’t have the right qualifications, all you need is some basic knowledge and a lot of enthusiasm.

“We need your help to continue to inspire young people through the nautical adventure and to continue to give them the best possible head start in life. “

New volunteers will receive an induction and receive training and support to make them feel comfortable in their role.

The Newark Sea Cadets opened in 1987 and have helped thousands of Newark’s youth learn nautical skills.

The unit is open Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:45 p.m. to 9 p.m., and meets at their unit’s headquarters on Sherwood Avenue for anyone interested.
