The Sutton house offers sea views and geothermal heating

Daheim, St Fintan’s Road, Sutton, Dublin 13

Starting price: €1.75 million Agent: Gallagher Quigley (01) 818 3000

In last week’s property supplement, Daheim in Sutton was incorrectly described as 18 Bailey Green Road in Howth. Here is the correct description of coastal property.

After years of living abroad, the owners of Daheim were clearly serious about returning to Ireland as the name of the house is German for ‘house’.

The property is 3,633 square feet, with views of Dublin Bay. Designed with these views in mind, Daheim is situated on an elevated site with the accommodation inside inverted to enhance the views of sea, shoreline and mountains stretching as far as the eye can see.
On the ground floor are the bedrooms. All have their own bathroom. It wouldn’t be an overstatement to call the master a ‘suite’ as it also comes complete with a walk-in closet and in-home gym.

Upstairs, three independent reception rooms. To the front of the house is the living room with doors to the kitchen/dining room. The kitchen is fitted with bespoke matt Miele units and an island that seats four.

In the middle of the house is a home office, a “powder room”, a laundry room and a utility room.
At the back is a family room that leads to the dining room. This room opens onto a deck which takes you out into the grassy part of the garden with a children’s play area and a large raised terrace which overlooks the house and the sea.

St Fintan’s Road is just off Strand Road in Sutton and is within walking distance of many schools including Sutton Park, St Fintan’s National School and Santa Sabina. It is also next to two golf clubs.

Daheim has a B1 energy rating and is equipped with solar and geothermal heating systems. It is on sale via Gallagher Quigley with an indicative price of €1.75m.
